ITS colleagues will have the opportunity to provide feedback via an employee climate survey opening January 16, 2018. This is the fourth climate survey ITS has issued since 2013 and the first for the new system-wide organization. Employees will receive an email invitation to the survey from ITS Human Resources.
Employee surveys help the ITS organization understand what is important to employees and identify ways to make ITS a better place to work. Given the changes that have occurred with the recent merger of campus IT services into a unified ITS, it is important to collect employee feedback.
“Surveys are an unbiased way of obtaining information from a wide variety of employees for the purposes of planning and decision making,” said Lisa Vogt, assistant director for ITS human resources. “ITS surveys completed at UNL since 2013 have generated positive information about its culture, as well as identified areas for improvement.
The ITS survey is confidential. The data is collected by Nancy F. Myers, Director of UNL Organization Development. Dr. Myers is independent of the ITS reporting structure. Once she has received the raw data, results will be reported in a generalized way that so that individuals cannot be identified. All ITS employees will receive a copy of the summarized survey results. In addition, there will be opportunities for ITS employees to comment on the results of the survey and suggest ideas to move forward.
