We are eager to launch our third year of the NU ITS Big Ideas program in 2021-22, which we are now calling the NU Innovation Hub.
We are seeking your creative ideas for what’s next in service to the University of Nebraska, and we hope that you will take the time to submit your idea by August 15.
In the spirit of the NU Provost Office’s Big Ideas Initiative, in which faculty participate in helping to plan University-wide funding priorities over the next few years, ITS launched its own Big Ideas process in 2019. These ideas will play a critical role in our ITS strategic planning process for 2021-22 and beyond. The Hub aims to help our partners – NU students, faculty and staff – design and deliver transformative experiences that enhance teaching, learning, research and the student experience via technology.
Specifically, we are looking for individuals or teams to bring forward ideas that are:
• Impact multiple campuses we serve and not just one environment
• Forward-facing with a noticeable impact to faculty/students/staff, visible, understood by our users
• Not a product or system name, but focused on the WHY we would do this work
• Timely, agile to meet emerging needs in our rapidly changing climate
This year’s process is slightly different and is intentionally designed to engage more external stakeholders beyond our NU ITS organization in both the proposal stage as well as in the selection of the final project(s). As you submit your idea, you will notice in the form that you are required to name at least one partner (a NU student, faculty or staff member who is not a part of NU ITS). If your proposal is selected as a finalist, this partner will serve as a co-presenter to our stakeholder review panel.
The new NU Innovation Hub initiative(s) will be announced in October 2021.
